Energy Sensitization

Aim

The project aims to reduce the environmental footprint and financial burden due to the waste of energy in MSF and ICRC premises. We foresee that such a move by two giants of the humanitarian sector could have a knock-on effect for other organisations also. More specifically, the project aims to:

· Identify appropriate solutions to monitor energy consumption to obtain a better understanding on how energy is used by staff in organizations’ premises.

· Design approaches — that take into account high turn-over of staff — that can trigger real and persistent changes in staff behaviours in ICRC and MSF premises.

Status

INITIATION
The objective is to conduct a market study on solutions for monitoring energy consumption in buildings (offices and residential units), taking into account technical requirements, analyse suitable behavior-based energy efficiency strategies and combine these into a pilot protocol that can be piloted at ICRC and MSF premises during the next phase.
