Pediatric Wound Care Optimisation

Aim

The SIU Wound Care Case aims to explore approaches to a prevalent challenge within Pediatric wound care in the MSF context. Originated from the SIU Pediatric Hackathon where a multi-stakeholder group ideated around the challenge, the case is focused on identifying optimized solutions to keep complicated wound dressings in place, dry and clean.

As a vehicle for generating knowledge and further dialogues within MSF and with external experts, the wound care project is looking to validate the initial ideas from the Hackathon, explore other potential directions or complementary solutions, refine selected approaches and create a more tangible visualization of these approaches as a first phase.

Pediatric wound care can be highly complex and is dependent on many parameters, expertise, and assessments along the healing process. The ideal outcome of this case is to fuel knowledge and insights related to the challenge and potentially contribute to pragmatic, concrete and truly supportive solutions in addition to the collation of helpful materials and tools that may ease the challenge burden.
